The Serengeti Foundation
Founded in 1997, The Serengeti Foundation has specialized in both the conservation of land, while also supporting various animal sanctuary non-profit groups. We are working towards protecting and enhancing our 5,000 acre ranch in Sierra Foothills in Fresno County, CA, and also protecting an reforesting our 160 acre preserve on the outskirts of Missoula, Montana.
In early 2003, we were introduced to the management of the Elephant Haven in Thailand. We were integral in helping them raise money for land acquisition at that time, and since then, have assisted with the purchase/rescue of injured, pregnant or otherwise needy elephants. The Serengeti Foundation remains in active support of The Elephant Haven to help sustain the sanctuary in their day to day needs.
Further, The Serengeti Foundation supports The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. The team at Sheldrick does incredible "on the ground" work to protect elephants and all animals in Kenya. Working with Sheldrick, Serengeti has funded the drilling of a borehole (well) in a remote and arid region of Tsavo Park in Kenya. We also support one team in their ongoing snare removal program within Tsavo park.
Their website is: www.SheldrickWildlifeTrust.org.
At the Serengeti Foundation, 100% of all donations go directly towards the above-mentioned causes. No salaries have ever been taken, no travel expenses paid, nothing. We are all about saving the land and protecting its animals.
